Joe Stamates

Position: President

How and when did you first start working in the construction industry? 

Grew up working summers on framing crews for a leading Bay Area General Contractor through high school and college; Upon graduation from Cal State Chico with a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management started working as a Superintendent for James E Roberts-Obayashi Corporation.


What is your work experience in this industry?

15 years as a Superintendent; 7 Years as Vice President of Construction; 12 years as Partner/President of JS Builders LLC


What are the responsibilities related to your position?

The overall success of JS Builders and ensure our staff has the tools and needs to be successful in every aspect. Overseeing all projects from start to finish and building relationships with repeat clients.

Honesty, Fairness, People, and Successful Projects.


What do you enjoy most about your position? Why?

I enjoy building projects from the ground up, seeing an old building being torn down and being involved in the construction planning and phasing of a new building being built with the teamwork that is involved to accomplish this is rewarding.


What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Spending time with Family and Friends, Golfing, Cooking, and just about anything outdoors.

Lynn Stamates

Position: Controller

How and when did you first start working in the construction industry? 

Started working right out of college as a Project Accountant

What is your work experience in this industry?

Project Accountant for 20 years, then Controller and HR for the last 12 years.

What are the responsibilities related to your position?

All accounting aspects for projects, AR, AP, HR, Office Manager and Controller.

What are the values that drive you?

Being successful in my job, hardworking, teamwork, honesty, and building relationships with employees and subs.

What do you enjoy most about your position? Why?

Accounting is like a puzzle, there is always an answer where everything has to balance.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Golfing, hiking, cooking, spending time with family.

Juan Lampa

Position: Senior Project Manager

How and when did you first start working in the construction industry? 

1995

What is your work experience in this industry?

I started as a Project Coordinator. Got promoted to Project Engineer and eventually became a Project Manager.

What are the responsibilities related to your position?

Responsible for overall project oversight including client and design team interaction, document control, budget, and schedule oversight.

What are the values that drive you?

Responsibility, honesty, respect and fairness

What do you enjoy most about your position? Why?

To bring projects to life and build things every day. It can be extremely satisfying, making the high-pressure and fast-paced work environment more than worth it.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy playing golf and taking road trips.

Jennifer Hoffman

Position: Project Manager

How and when did you first start working in the construction industry? 

I started working in the construction industry in 2004, after graduating from Cal Poly SLO with a degree in Construction Management.

What are the responsibilities related to your position?

Manage and oversee construction of wood frame multi-family residential projects. Interface and coordinate with client, design team, project team, and subcontractors. Review and interpret plans, plan changes, and submittals. Responsible for managing project cost, and schedule

Finishing a project on time and under budget & pride in doing a job well done.

Cooking & baking, reading, movies, live performances, playing with my two Labradoodles & spending time with my amazing daughter.

Denise Lugton

Position: Project Manager 

 

How and when did you first start working in the construction industry?

1980 – Stepfather worked in the industry. 

 

What is your work experience in this industry?

Accounting, Field PA, Field Superintendent, Contracts Accounting Mgr, Project Engineer, Project Manager. 

 

What are the responsibilities related to your position?

Maintain 6-week schedule, update as-built schedule, track project delays, update weather delays, lead OAC meetings, walk site, attend foreman meetings, upload green halo (recycle) tags, review pay application, review updated job cost, code A/P invoices & delivery tags, permits, TCP Plans, Deferred Submittals, RFI’s, Submittals, ASI (review, price & update plans), process PCO, COR, SCO, close out documents & videos.
